Author E.M. Knowles did it again. I was lucky enough to read this book while at sea which gave a very real backdrop for the words contained within the chapters. It is clear that this author does her research when it comes to historical scene setting and character development. Thanks to her vivid descriptions of very real areas, I was able to visualize the character's travels while they were on land. No character is insignificant or unintentional - they are all dynamic and purposeful. Her factual insight with the dramatic storytelling kept me engaged and intrigued. And as soon as I was sure I had figured out the plot, another twist came. I was in suspense until the end.Product details

Rodent EM Knowles 9781533110251 Books Reviews
This book was not at all what I was expecting, but GAWD was it good. If you want something dark, twisted, and fantastically unique drop everything you're doing and read this book!
Wow, are you ready to think? If not this isn't your read. If so get that thinking cap ready and your list if deadlies, and dive right in. About half way through I thought I had him all figured out then wham, the twist give the end a whole different look. The characters who seem so less than sympathaic become rolled in their good and evil till you are left cheering for the strangest one minute and disliking them the next. The writing is excellent, but I warn you it will not be over in your mind just because you finished the book.
E.M. Knowles takes you on a maniacal (boat) ride and leaves you questioning reality! This book can best be described at Historical psychological horror, combining all of my favorite genres, and is set in my hometown of Tampa in the days of the Spanish influenza. Knowles descriptive writing takes you there, as Rodent fights the madness that surrounds him and threatens his very being! This is a must read!
